Predict the 2025 Canadian Federal Election with Presidential Pick'Em!

The 2025 Canadian Federal Election will determine the members of the House of Commons in the Parliament of Canada. Canadians will vote to elect 338 Members of Parliament (MPs) across the country, and the party that wins the most seats typically forms the government.

The leader of the party that forms government becomes the Prime Minister of Canada. The election is expected to be held on April 28, 2025.

For the Canadian Federal Election, you'll answer a series of questions about the election outcome, such as:

• Whether any party will win a majority government
• How many seats each major party will win
• Regional results across different provinces

Points are awarded based on how accurately you predict the answers to each question.

The major political parties in Canada include:

• Liberal Party: Currently in power, led by Prime Minister Mark Carney
• Conservative Party: The Official Opposition, led by Pierre Poilievre
• New Democratic Party (NDP): Led by Jagmeet Singh
• Bloc Québécois: A Quebec nationalist party, led by Yves-François Blanchet
• Green Party: Led by Elizabeth May and Jonathan Pedneault

Canada uses a first-past-the-post electoral system. The country is divided into 338 electoral districts (ridings), each electing one Member of Parliament (MP) to the House of Commons.

In each riding, the candidate who receives the most votes wins the seat, regardless of whether they receive a majority of votes.

To form a majority government, a party needs to win at least 170 seats (more than half of the 338 seats). If no party wins a majority, the result is a minority government, which typically requires support from other parties to pass legislation.

The deadline is a few hours before the first polls close on Election Day. For the 2025 Canadian Federal Election, this will be 6:00 PM Eastern Time on election day.

Points are awarded based on how accurately you predict the answers to each question. Different questions may be worth different point values.
